    Do we learn our identities from images? People living on the periphery model their appearances after the expectations of those in power. Tourism brings money so give the tourists what they want and look like what they expect. Nothing may be as it appears. Surface appearances may lie. We may even lie to ourselves. What about people who look Arabic or oriental, but grew up in Europe? Who is the impostor? Is what one feels inside rather than surface appearances authentic? Who decides?
