Lives Within Lifetimes
    Lives Within Lifetimes

    3 min. looping digital video

The film “Lives Within Lifetimes” resembles a documentary, but in fact documents nothing. From the dialogue, it is evident that the Turkish and American speakers, chosen as representatives of age groups from 30 to 90, have made diverse life choices. To each interviewee, I asked the same question about “change”, but I switched background from indoor to outdoor and from Istanbul to North Carolina. In this work, I point out situations, explore possibilities and invite viewers to think about issues related to memory, change, life cycles, permanence, and the inevitability of death.
