Job Description
Cornell College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Director of Residence Life (ADRL). The Assistant Director serves as a live-in area coordinator with responsibility for supervising the day-to-day community development and operations of one of two residential areas housing approximately 450 students. Assistant directors support the department with additional leadership in some of these areas 1) consolidation; 2) upper-class living and learning programs; 3) RA Training; 4) RA Selection; 5) RA recognition.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Master’s degree in college student personnel, counseling, social work or related field with residence life experience preferred; candidates with Bachelor’s degree should have significant experience in residence life, educational program development, counseling, and/or supervision. Experience with or knowledge of student life at a small, residential liberal arts college is preferred. Responsibilities and title will be based on professional experience and interest, and current staffing needs.
Preferred Skills
Ability to influence, motivate and educate others. Knowledge of student development, group dynamics, leadership training and student group advising. Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff and parents. Willingness to live in a residence hall and maintain flexible work hours, including some evenings and weekends (residence hall apartment is fully furnished; requests for pets will be considered per established parameters).

The hiring pay range for this position is $17 - $19 per hour. The position is also provided with an on-campus apartment. Cornell College offers a fantastic benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, HSA & FSA accounts, a TIAA 403(b) retirement account, and tuition remission and exchange for employees and dependents. We also offer life insurance, disability insurance, travel insurance, and accident insurance. And, all full-time staff begin with a 4-week vacation accrual along with 14.5 paid holidays per year. This position works on campus with the possibility of some regular remote work.
