Financial Controller

Location: Denton County, Texas

Job Type: Full-Time | Compensation: $120,000 - $130,000/year

Our client, a rapidly growing, mission-driven organization focused on Christian-based leadership development for CEOs across the country, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team. As their trusted staffing partner, we’re looking for candidates who bring both technical financial expertise and a heart for service. This role requires a detail-oriented, highly organized individual who communicates proactively and consistently meets deadlines.

Position Overview

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s financial operations—including budgeting, cash flow management, reporting, payroll, and compliance—while also providing financial leadership to select client projects. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact, both internally and through external client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Manage cash flow and banking relationships; oversee timely invoice payments
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets
  • Oversee payroll processes and ensure compliance with labor and tax regulations
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Lead P&L management and provide operational recommendations
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
  • Coordinate with auditors and manage year-end audit and tax processes
  • Provide financial insight and support to select clients
  • Stay informed on financial regulations and best practices

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, or commercial building services
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting or Controller role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, payroll, and corporate or governmental accounting
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation abilities

  • Thrives in fast-paced settings and demonstrates a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
