Public Finance Analyst

As a Public Finance Analyst in our Chicago office, you will play a key role in providing investment banking solutions for the complex financing needs of public sector clients. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop financial models, and execute bond transactions that support vital infrastructure and community projects. Job Responsibilities

• Develop customized financial models using Excel to structure bond financings
• Utilize industry-approved third-party programs (DBC) to prepare bond structures
• Perform credit and debt capacity analyses for specific credits and sectors
• Prepare responses to requests for proposals as part of the solicitation process
• Create and manage debt profiles for issuers, evaluate portfolios for refunding/restructuring opportunities, and execute bond financings
• Collaborate with Public Finance, DCM, syndicate desks, credit origination, and derivatives marketing to pitch municipal clients and execute transactions
• Prepare presentation materials for client meetings and participate in presentations as required

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and deliver accurate, detailed materials under tight deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong work ethic, academic strength, teamwork, communication skills, high energy, and a passion for excellence
• Undergraduate degree from a competitive university with coursework in finance or economics
• Previous Public Finance experience at an investment bank or financial advisory firm
• Experience with DBC software, bond structuring, and transaction execution
