Designed for a billboard located beside an advertisement for the Istanbul Military Museum, this work has never been exhibited. The figures in the prints are of the artist’s American father and her Turkish father-in-law. Both men served during WWII, but neither saw active duty. As an inquiry into military alliances, nationhood, belonging and uniforms, the artist made this work shortly after the USA invaded Afghanistan in 2001.
