Nancy Atakan and Can Küçük explore the concepts of “collaboration” and “exchange,” both independently and in dialogue. Two similar oddly shaped canvas pieces designed by Küçük serve as backdrops. One remained in his Istanbul studio while he sent the other to Atakan in Bodrum. All summer, Atakan took her fabric wherever she went and documented each stop with photographs and video. The small video inserted into the finished design traces these travels from the fabric’s own perspective. At the heart of this work lies an image of the art space 5533 located the Istanbul Textile Traders’ Market (İMÇ). Embroidered onto the fabric by Nancy, the question “How are you?” and the response “I’m fine” referenced their daily text messages while Küçük managed events at 5533, a space of production deeply woven into the fabric of their everyday lives.

Surrounded by fabric leftover from previous projects, Can reflected on the importance in our daily lives of unnoticed and ignored cloth.  In this work, he explores the presence of fabric in both of their lives and the bond they have stitched together. He remembered that in the winter of 2023 some of his material ended up in her apartment. In one of the videos they shared on new years eve, he noticed that a piece of his fabric had by mistake turned into a skirt that Nancy wore as she danced in the first hours of the new year.

In the summer of 2025, Atakan carried the fabric piece sent to her by Can Küçük wherever she went and documented each stop with photographs and video. The video traces these travels from the fabric’s own perspective.
