Education Qualifications:
This position will support our Staples Clinic Team (RNs, Physicians, and other providers). You will provide direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
As a Clinical Assistant , you will be responsible for:
Patient Care and Monitoring: Perform routine assessments such as measuring vital signs, recording patient histories, and observing symptoms to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
Assisting with Procedures: Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring proper infection control.
Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects, ensuring accurate documentation.
Coordination of Care: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, and assist in coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals.
Patient Intake and Preparation: Conduct initial patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories, updating personal information, and preparing patients for examination or diagnostic testing.
As a Clinic Care Tech, you will be responsible for:
Supports and assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks
Supports patient scheduling and work queue needs as assigned
Follows up on no-shows and works with providers to review and approve add-ons
Greets patients, supports virtual visits, completes identification verification, height, weight and obtains vitals
Chaperones exams as needed
Administers questionnaires and documents in electronic medical record
May perform limited patient care tasks based on training
Processes incoming mail, scans, copies, and faxes as needed, prints and updates forms, answers internal phone calls, and may place office supply orders

You must have ONE of the following:
Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant
Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, with certification required within one year of hire (must pass certification within two attempts)
Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the relevant state
Clinical Assistant Wage Range: $21.49 - $32.24
The Clinic Care Tech Role, has NO educational/certification requirements.
Clinic Care Tech Wage Range: $15.79 - $23.69
