The isolation addressed by the artist in her 1987 watercolor dealt with psychological issues felt during in her search for an artistic voice in her adopted country. In 2022 during the Covid lockdown the artist looked back, remembered, re-evaluated older work and started to use whatever materials she found at home. Today’s isolation is a form of physicality shared by everyone as the world has been forced to rely mainly on internet for communication and relationships.
